There Is Still Hope Left
written by Kyle Lent

Lyrics | Instrumentation | About

It happens every night when life just don't seem right
The sun breaks free over the earth
And the ground will shake and hearts will break
But don't give up yet

Cause there is hope left
There is still hope left

Just when it closes in and I'd rather not begin
To think that it could ever turn around
Well, the devil inside of me, he ceases to be
And take a deep breath

Cause there is hope left
There is still hope left

La da da da da da...

I was dying to get in, now I'm dying to get out
And I'm dying just to know how it all ends
But not quite yet, there's still hope left
Hold on a little more

Cause there is hope left
There is still hope left

And when you wanna cave, don't feel like being brave
Well, just know the sun will shine again soon
And when the dark goes away, you'll live another day
And try again one day at a time

Cause there is hope left
There is still hope left
Cause there is hope left
There is still hope left

La da da da da da...

About "There Is Still Hope Left"
"There Is Still Hope Left" is not the sound of me trying to convince someone else of these truths, but more accurately, it is me trying to convince myself of it when it's difficult to believe. It is the last track on the record and the compliment to "In Harbors Gray", the first. Whereas "In Harbors Gray" is bleak and without hope, the idea is that in the morning, the sun will rise again. And in between is the struggle. Just at that breaking point, we're rescued. If you just hold on, you don't fall. "...God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." (1 Corinthians 10:13, ESV)
