And I wish I could sleep all day
In quiet, pass away
I'd climb on that diamond white boat
I see in harbors gray
And I wish I could stand up straight
For no one, but it's getting late
I've dreamt every night of you
Drawn out in figures of eight
And sometimes I wish that I could wish
To never show my face again
And with steady, steady hands
I write letters in the sand
And an ever-hungry ocean drags them out
Along with everything I am
And silence screams so loud
When trying to get it out
But to tell you the truth I wouldn't be
Happy with or without
And sometimes I wish that I could wish
To never show my face again
And love is easy some may say
'Til broken hearts get in the way
And I hope that it heals soon because
It can't get harder than today
And I wish I could sleep all day
In quiet, pass away
I'd climb on that diamond white boat
I see in harbors gray

About "In Harbors Gray"
Sometimes life becomes too much to bear and the thought of death doesn't seem so morbid but, instead, quite a
rescue. This was written as a response to one such time. The thought is mostly summarized in the fifth
verse: "Love is easy some may say / 'Til broken hearts get in the way / And I hope that it heals soon because /
It can't get harder than today." For me some days just seem incredibly difficult, and you're not sure that
tomorrow will ever come. The "diamond white boat" is the means to take you to the other side.
